6 European Super Cup record for Real Madrid

Mbappé and Valverde’s goals help Real Madrid win a record-tying sixth European Super Cup.

Real Madrid defeated Atalanta 2-0 in the Warsaw final to win their sixth European Super Cup. After a fantastic assist from Vini Jr., our side took the lead in the 59th minute through a goal from Valverde. Mbappé, making his official Madrid debut, sealed the victory in the 68th minute with a ball from MVP candidate Bellingham.

Two and a half months later, the 2024–25 Champions League winners made history by kicking off the season in Warsaw with both Mbappé’s debut and their first title on the line. Before Atalanta made their intentions known in the 25th minute, the game was played cautiously between the two teams. De Roon’s cross nearly put them ahead after Milit<0xC3><0xA3>o got a head to it, but it struck the crossbar. Our team answered in kind just before the interval, with the most obvious opportunity of the first. After Vini Jr. skillfully passed the ball from the edge of the area, Rodrygo struck the crossbar with his left-footed effort.

Opening the scoring is Valverde

With a stop on Pasali’s header after halftime, Courtois held off the Italians. Our squad started to search for a goal with swift transitions as the final picked up speed. In the 56th minute, Bellingham attempted, but his attempt from the area’s edge was high. With their finest play of the game, Madrid made it 1-0 in these deadly final minutes. In the other half, Vini Jr. was discovered by Bellingham on the left side following Mendy’s ball recovery. After deftly sidestepping the defender and reaching the byline, the Brazilian headed toward the far post, where he slipped a superb pass to Valverde, who finished with a goal (59 minutes).

Bellingham was excellent, and Ancelotti’s team was winning. Once more, the Englishman set up Vini Jr., whose attempt to score the second goal against Musso was prevented by the goalkeeper’s providential hand. The goalkeeper stopped Bellingham from close range in the 66th minute as the Madrid duo continued to pose a serious threat.

Mbappé scored his first goal

Two minutes later, the prize for so much perseverance arrived, and it bore Mbappé’s signature. Bellingham gave the Frenchman a fantastic pass in the center of the area, and he scored easily, sending the ball into the upper left corner. The Madrid deluge never stopped, but in the end, the score was 2-0, and our team gained a new prize for its trophy collection—our sixth European Super Cup.
